@TearGasBreakfast One thing I learned on a wet hike into the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania:Do not burn a candle lantern inside a wet tentThe wet seals all the holes and you run out of oxygen. Candle goes out and one will too if not paying attention

@EarlThePearls @TearGasBreakfast The engineer in me comes out and I start looking for insulated (B-type) exhaust pipes and burn oxygen supply air vents, rocks and ropes to support everything properly, etc., and then I think how far I should go in my construction project before I'm recreating all the things I'm trying to escape from. Usually, that's about all I need, and a minimal setup works out pretty well. Anything more and I should buy a forest property to build a cabin on.

@TearGasBreakfast This was a full meal just like you would have at home. We hauled the weight and it was worth itI got my intro to winter camping in Boy Scouts. We did one were it got down to about 0It was on a lake at the boy scout campMy dad had a canvas coat that came to your knees with a line that made you look like a bear. During the day it was windy and the ice was clean.Took a led and that coat out and sailed halfway across the lake. Not as much fun coming back tho ⛵

@Padre @TearGasBreakfast Dis snow camping on the south side of King's Peak one year.Built snow cavemade huge bonfiredoing it all right for comfort is tricky. Our bonfire ended up 10 ft below the snow topsThe cave floor has to be properly shaped or all slides to the lowest pointThink the snow pack was about 15' at that point in the yearCamp was on the flat no avalanche dangers

@EarlThePearls I remember Iquitos from the map of Peru when I went to visit that country in 2004. It looked like a unique experience to see it, but the route I was taking, due to other places I wanted to visit (also in Bolivia) and the time limitations left me no choice but to skip it.I did visit the jungles around Rurrenabaque in Bolivia. That was pretty awesome 🙂@TearGasBreakfast - take care of yourself, and have a great time!@Padre @AliceInWonderland @RangerJohn @lifeDAV
