@adiz Anecdotal. Heres a contradictory one in response.Many people I know here in the USA who've transitioned are minorities to begin with. African, Asian, Hispanic etc.News and other media are still racist and biased.---Furthermore you're not applying material conditions and the high amount of accumulated wealth the west has.Never minding the nuances of gender throughout history.---Overall I rate your "inquiry" built on false premises and reactionary in some aspect.

@doomsdayrs@mastodon.ml among adults who identify as transgender nationally [USA], 55% identify as WhiteSo white people are still the majority here, and it's actually, I suppose, to be fair, aligned nearly 1:1 with the white non-hispanic percentage of the US population.For MtF vs. FtM I see various statistics, but all basically agree that the rate of MtF is about 4--5x that of FtM.So, ultimately, by the numbers, we're still working with primarily white males transitioning.

@genmaicha@stereophonic.space There have been the concept of "third genders" or whatever in other civilizations across time and the world, but they aren't completely aligned with contemporary transgender theory or existence. Furthermore, if transgenderism is meant to be an evolution or byproduct of the normalization of queerness and questioning the very concepts of gender and gender identity amongst society...why do they so many transgender individuals so deeply embrace the most stereotypical expressions or fashions of the opposite sex? None of the narratives I hear seem to make sense or add up.

@adiz my hypothesis is that most transgenders do it from autism because they have a different way of understanding themselves than neurotypicals, and the internet could have turned it into a sort of cult like what happened with eating disorders... a certain percentage also seem to do it out of mental illness and others for fetish reasons
