All this rss and opml talk has got me back into just reading feeds from my aggregator instead of doomscrolling across 3 social networks. I'm also using my feed again regularly: http://adam.curry.com/linkblog.xmlI like that you can stick .rss after any mastodon url to get a feed.

@adam If I may ask, what is your preferred RSS aggregator for desktop and/or Android?

@shieldholder I use the FreedomController but also have had some great success with this cloud based system. You can host it yourself or even use a V4V hosted version:https://freshrss.org/Works great on desktop and mobile

@adam rss will never die!my rss reader has a few folders for fediverse, HN, Reddit, all aggregating via RSS, neat way to be able to search on it afterwards in case I missed something on any given wider topic I like to dive into

@vandys I realized most of the information I was getting from twitter and one mastodon instance are easily available and parsed from their original sources, which I now subscribe to with RSS

@shieldholder @adam FWIW I've never been able to give up RSS readers - they are just too damned efficient. I like Liferea on Linux and Omea on Windows.

@shieldholder @adam I'm a fan of tt-rss. Self-hosted is nice, but it does kinda suck to use on a tiny screen (mobile).

@Tjunta @shieldholder I've been using Inoreader (paid service) for web and Android since Google killed its reader. Works great.

@PaulECarefully I use it many times a day every day for years. App and web. I've been hooked on RSS for news and media consumption.
