Netflix and other MSM outlets are floating stories about civil war in the US. They seem to be prepping us for and encouraging it. A civil war is what they want. Have the people fight each other instead of the establishment and then employ Divide Et Impera (Divide and Rule). The narratives they don't want to float are of class revolution against the establishment. The answer to 1984 is 1776.

@Bernard The answer to 1984 is 1989:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Velvet_RevolutionMy [editorial revisions] refer to the US:The Velvet Revolution (Czech: Sametová revoluce) or Gentle Revolution (Slovak: Nežná revolúcia) was a non-violent transition of power in what was then Czechoslovakia, occurring from 17 November to 28 November 1989. Popular demonstrations against the [duopoly] included students and older dissidents. The result was the end of [150 years of duopoly rule] in Czechoslovakia, and the subsequent dismantling of the command economy and conversion to a [functioning Democracy].

@ecsd A peaceful revolution does sound better, but if the establishment eliminates that ability, people will resort to other means.

@Bernard Explain this Trump shit to me."The leader they wanted" is indicted for 91 offenses. He's already convicted of rape. So he's a criminal. Is he fit for office? The Colorado court determined that he participated in an insurrection. They invoked the 14th amendment to exclude Trump.I'm fine with that."But oh no? If he's the one we want, he's forgiven all crimes and misdemeanors?"He said he could walk down 5th avenue and shoot someone and get away with it. It would seem that he is right. So I'm laughing to hear people whine and moan OH HE WAS TREATED UNFAIRLY. Reminds me of the Israelis: "never mind what we did to them, they attacked us back!" Yes, let us all bend over backward to make sure that a cruel man, a bad politician, IS TREATED "FAIRLY".While it's true that two wrongs don't make a right, how much alacrity do you feel we owe to rescue that unfortunate person (remembering that it takes at least the same time and effort to rescue all the victims of his presidency?)We see how the "deep state" structures attacked Trump. Well, they've attacked every president. Why does the outrage only emerge to protect Trump? What sacred principles are being offended if we refuse to fete Trump? How is he deserving under the law, and then how is he deserving beyond the law?I'm amused that I would defend speech for Nazis yet not care that Trump goes under the bus, for potentially similar reasons. I just think we can do better, and with Trump out of the way, we have a chanceAw darn, some Coloradans won't get to try to elect a would-be dictator as US President. Show me how that's a disaster for "Democracy".

@Bernard The other issue is that "the people" have no-one to lead them in a revolution, that anyone pays attention to, anyway. The JFK quote about denying peaceful revolution. But Americans show all signs of being content to be slaves -- insofar as they won't mount a persistent opposition to anything.Except genocide, so we're not a totally lost people yet.

@ecsd I will try to explain this carefully. First try to remove any hate you might have for him in evaluating the situation to see it more clearly. Those indictments are largely trumped up, and the same charge is repeated for every incident to make the number 91 seem like more than it is. He is not convicted for any of them TMK. It seems like lawfare in action to tie him up and tarnish him, but it is having the reverse impact. The more things they charge him with, the more popular he becomes.

@ecsd Even if someone is in jail, he can legally serve as president if the people elected him. The insurrection charge is ridiculous IMO and many others. J6 was a setup. Here is a good perspective on Colorado's action. https://bird.makeup/users/tuckercarlson/statuses/1737575686716465477If the establishment can take out Trump this way, they can take out others who threaten their power similarly. We should attempt to understand the perspective of his supporters.

@Bernard There's the pilot of Atlantis where RDA tells Flanagan, "I'll be succinct" and then says nothing for long enough for Flanagan to respond, "that's pretty succinct."TBH I have ignored Trump-anything to the extent possible. But I'd only ever seen the guy to be a TV personality and not a nice one [his selling point: to be an asshole.]I can suspend judgement only to an extent. I admit, the constant din of how horrible a person he is had its effect: I have no use for him. But that's alongside not having had any use for him otherwise. The press called him out as a racist. Well? And on and on. So show me why the guy is in some sense DESERVING.There's a lot to the story I never heard. Apparently Trump has been dealt dirty deals by "the powers that be." Easing tensions with Russia, and they rushed to stop it. Etc, cite me up.But I'm not willing to trade a shit domestic agenda for a small improvement in the foreign agenda. I keep askingWHAT GREAT GOOD DID TRUMP BRING TO THE COUNTRYthat justifies wanting so hard to reinstate him? Mr. Autocrat?=Someone keeps doing this, but it's wrong:however bad the Democrats are can't make the Republicans better, however bad the Republicans are can't make the Democrats better. That is the mythology that perpetuates the duopoly.

@Bernard I'll try to see it as his supporters do.People keep being hysterical over its being a "precedent", but laws are chronically used and ignored to achieve political objectives, so this would be just more of the same. Did anyone turn back to save Bernie Sanders?I tuned out of J6 as well. I've heard a lot of "inside" shit. Problem is, if crimes were committed to assemble people and then by the people assembled at someone's bidding, that's still crimes. Investigate it all. But TrumpCo is not exonerated because the democrats got into the action TOO.Jesus Ass Christ. A plague on both their houses. The world is burning and we're stuck on this shit.

@ecsd Bernie was ousted by other DNC shenanigans. More extreme tactics are being used on Trump. Peaceful protest is not a crime and never should be. They call it an insurrection, but apparently everybody forgot to bring their weapons. Federal agent provocateurs were all over it. They threw shock grenades and pepper spray into peaceful crowds to enrage them. They let protestors in and guided them around. If you want to see the footage, I can find it for you. Crazy story..

@Bernard You have a fairly set opinion about it. I admit, I'm just recalling things in passing. But it seems clear there were people there who were intent on causing harm. Would congresspeople or senators have to be evacuated from a polite crowd? [Would polite people break windows to get inside?]The problem is "the Trump message". People gathering to endorse Trump or Trumpism and "Peaceful" don't fit well. "We know for a fact that the election was stolen so we won't have it any other way than the way we want? We're pissed?"==The crap happens too fast to keep up with. May all involved be held accountable, or at least exposed.

@ecsd My opinion is not set, but I researched a lot. When it first went down I was a bit suspicious of the narrative as I am with all these types of events. It took a long time for the full videos to be released. Many people who were not even there got sentenced to up to 20 years while this guy https://rumble.com/v1812ad-is-ray-epps-an-undercover-fed.html never did a day in jail. Trump only called for a peaceful protest. Don't let your feelings about Trump cloud your vision of what is happening.

@Bernard I'm not "influenced by my feelings about Trump." I have a certain contempt for him, but my attitude toward him is I DON'T CARE, not "I hate him." I mean, on a scale of 1 to 10, my hostility toward Anthony Blinken is about 9.95. For Trump, maybe 0.75. I think he's useless, and anyone like that can be dangerous, but I'm not afraid of him.Douglas MacGregor mentioned knowing Trump, and I found his attitude curious in comparison with the flaming rhetoric that usually surrounds Trump. For him, Trump was just someone else, and that was interesting because the way the press portrays Trump [as I perceive it] is that he's incompetent. McG didn't reflect that attitude. So maybe Trump is not a total fool after all.The best we get is, people justifiably angry about the /state of the country/ assembled to protest and were then abused, by forces on Both the right and the left. But the motivation was a supposedly stolen election. Sorry, not impressed with a crowd of whipped-up wahoos. I won't call them "good guys", the nicest word is 'misled'.I'd rather read a book, if you know one to recommend.
