       Family visits: I explained that we were being very covid cautious and wouldn't unmask. They said they were being very careful, not seeing many people. I declined their lunch and brunch offers. Showed up. They invited another person with a chronic cough. Later, I learned first person was *just* getting over "flu and pneumonia" and had travelled earlier that week. Their "very careful" is not going to keep me safe. I hate not being able to trust people to keep me safe. #Covid19 #MaskUp

       @ThunderHoneySnow Yeah, it can be kinda intense how wildly varying different people's definitions of "we're being very careful" is. Leads to some odd conversations and head scratching situations like you're describing.I talked to one person whose version of being careful about covid was flying first class instead of coach because "you're not around all those people"I was just like uhhh

       @sidereal Totally!I heard from another relative about someone who has been really cautious this whole time- and caught covid eating in a crowded restaurant. My definition of cautious is not the same as someone who thinks eating in a restaurant is being cautious.

I declined their lunch and brunch offers.Showed up. They invited a pitbull with a chronic snarl. Later, I learned that "she only bites if you act weird" and she was just getting over the "toddler" who "got in her space" last week.Their "owner" is not going to keep my children and dogs safe.I hate not being able to trust people to keep us safe.
