Newsletters are just blogs anyways. Maybe set-up your paywall for your blog without a Nazi-supporting provider?Just a thought.

@tante Are newsletters just blogs? Normally, newsletters come via mail - this is not the norm for blogs.Yes, you can read good blogs by RSS but most people don't do it / don't know that it works. But I agree with you that it's best to be independent with both. (May I ask who is the bad provider?)

@tante And ghost.org is there. Open source, allows to set up paywalls, regular email send-outs, and so on. It's really -right- there.

@tante Better: Maybe stop sending out E-Mails at all, and put your fucking content on the web and not in people's private inboxes. #fucknewsletters

@tantehttps://notd.io/n/YourFreeBlog makes it simple to do exactly that (even the paywall is easy)

@tante do people really read newsletters? I get the message, click on the link to view it in the browser if i'm interested. I can do that with an rss reader.

@tante @tb this might just be my pet issue but i see a lot of discussion around “do we let nazis in our free speech absolutism” but if they want to stand up for free speech absolutism they have to actually stand up for it always. that’s what it means to have values. instead they banning sex workers and fan fiction writers.at least if they did that there would be a conversation. but they don’t. substack isn’t a free speech absolutist, they’re just cowards stringing words together
