       went to customise a laptop on their site for a laugh and apparently if I want video out and ethernet, I only get one normal USB port, because I have to sacrifice one for chargingit would also cost me like $1600 so no thanks I'll buy another bike instead

       @izaya there apparently are people that build mainboards with modern CPUs that fit the x220. Sadly those are way too expensive (also It would need some other upgrades like a 1080p screen and a better trackpad)

       @izaya yeah framework is cool and all but i’m sure as hell not buying one new, it’s literally cheaper to buy a new laptop like every 3-5 years

       @izaya not to be too much of a Framework apologist: you're indeed limited for concurrent ports, but you can swap them as needed very quickly while only slightly hurting your fingers.

       @Ted yeah it was mostly talking shit, you functionally have 4 USB ports and a bunch of dongles which is a novel approach, and I guess I don't often need video out, ethernet, and USB at the same timestill

       @Ted I may have conflated the X220 and T420, there's two on the left and one on the rightthinking about it, there's no space on the X220 for the back USB port
