well yeah but that's just the starting point, it ends with monopolies that merge with the state, that's the end of the competition dialectic - somebody wins. That's how it always goes everywhere. My Dad felt guilty only buying that so he got a hammer or some shit as well. There are logistical and financial problems with small businesses like that store, which can be solved with horizontal or vertical cooperation, like with guilds or state organisation, that need not interfere with the operation of the business. But in principle, yeah sure, there's no problem with mom and pops.The pursuit of profit above all else is a retarded foundational principle for your economy, though, and that is what capitalism is. Of course, it's fine for there to be pursuit of profit by certain entities, it's just fucking awful to have it as the cornerstone.
