@mjg59 Love it, reminds me of a friend in the 90s arranging a permanent newsgroup by just posting a control message and presumably no one looked at it, bunch of NNTP admins just sighed and added the group to their servers.

@cda I'm just amazed that this guy running this antarctic research station thought "Huh I'm changing the timezone I should email the internet to let them know" and found the right people to tell and the first reply is basically "Are you fucking drunk"

@mjg59 So good! He was pretty polite given the question. The flip side of it is also funny...this guy spends a lot of time "touching snow" as it were (not involved in our nerd sh**); he probably lives in a world that is 100% "I make a call and things happen." and in some strange way it makes it seem not that outrageous.
