       One of the challenges in fediverse instance governance today is that there's no good way for people on an instance to collectively let their admin know how they feel about an issue.  It strikes me that a simple petition app could work quite well here:- people log in with their fediverse account to "sign" -- so it's verified that they actually have an account on the instance- a simple "database" list signers to display them publicly- an optional "let people know" button could make it easy to tell others about itDoes anybody know if an app like this exists -- or if there's a good template to use as a starting point?#fediverse

       @DoctorDNS@masto.ai That's the best tactic in a lot of cases.  But think about the poll @stux@mstdn.social did last July about whether or not to block Threads - it got over 8000 votes.  Imagine his notifications if everybody messaged him about that!  And there was no way to know how many of the responses were from instances he admins.  Plus there are plenty of other cases where admins *don't* do polls.  So, I think this is a complementary tool.

       @jdp23 @DoctorDNS Do you mean "instance level" issues or more Mastodon/software related? :cat_hug_triangle: Maaaybeee.. if can think of a good design for this, it could be an addition for Mastodon itself (i could bring it to the devs)

       @stux @jdp23 instance level issues. I guess I assume most instance owners are as awesomely responsive as you are.
