@grammargirl News to me. What would that look like? What kind of costumes are we talking about? I mean, overwrought sweaters, Santa suits, and pajamas would be the obvious choices...I'm confused.

@grammargirl My neighborhood had one this weekend. I had heard of people wearing ironic ugly sweaters, but not an “ugly party”. Big nope from me.

@Teyrnon One party looked like it had a 1920s theme. At another, my cousin and his son looked like they were dressed up like gingerbread men.At another, people were dressed up like characters from their favorite Christmas movies.

@grammargirl I didn't know they had become a thing, although I was amused a few days ago, while waiting on line in a shop, when the woman ahead of me asked the cashier "Do you have any ugly sweaters?"I mean, what's an employee supposed to say? "Yes, ma'am, I find out new line of turtlenecks to be especially unflattering"?
