#Russia opposition writers Shenderovich and Bykov are occasionally attacked as "traitors" for not supporting Putin and supporting #Ukraine, including financial donations to ZSU. Shenderovich describes a message he got from a Russian teacher who was trying to shame him for "sponsoring bullets which will then kill" her mobilized students.To which Shenderovich replied:> Alas, the real choice today is not between keeping your former tenth-graders alive or having them murdered (with Bykov and Shenderovich's money). The choice looks different. Your former tenth graders — these "poor", kind and nice guy in particular — will be sent to kill Ukrainians. And of course I still feel sorry (individually) for him and his fellow villeins, but forgive me — I feel much more sorry for the free people they will kill. Including children.

@kravietz Ain't my most loved writers, but surely some of the finest beacons of decency and integrity to bear a Russian passport.Just last week one AST publishing house suspended distribution of Bykov's work, making his works look attain the worthy status of being near impossible to get hold of in print within Russia.

@polezaivsani Apart from having symbolic value I don’t think this will be any limiting factor as every single book in Russian can be downloaded as FB2 from generic Internet websites :)

@kravietz Agreed, I doubt there remain any publisher within Russia worth giving one's money to. Maybe one or two exceptions to confirm the general rule.
