       Judaism has laws about everything, and war is no exception.For example, Jewish law explicitly, strictly prohibits cutting down your enemy's fruit trees during a war. Heck, Jewish law prohibits destroying fruit-bearing trees _at all_. Think about this the next time you hear about "religious" Jewish settlers in the West Bank destroying Palestinian olive groves.

       @jik Not exactly confined to #Judaism. It's not difficult to observe that every #religion happily ignores, selectively interprets, etc. their own teachings when expedient to them.

       @amymagdalena Well, among many self-declared Christians it’s quite common to cherry-pick some rather drastic Old Testament quotes as long as it serves their current bias… I fully agree that pointing out this inconsistency should be a daily practice.@jik
