My personal travel device continues to be a Chromebook (sorry WSL; working graphics matters and I'm not putting up with defender on something with a battery), and I'm probably the only person in the world cheering to see this:https://chromeunboxed.com/the-chrome-cast-250-asus-launches-the-new-king-of-chromebooks/so now's its a race: will there be an upgraded Framework Chromebook, or will I have to brave the *terrible* ordering process for a nice Asus next year?

@slightlyoff I've been very happy with the HP Dragonfly Chromebooks that are Google's standard-issue these days. And that's for doing WebGPU work!Problem is they're stupid expensive, but I can't find the price of the Asus so I don't know if it's a reasonable alternative.

And yes, I use Windows ~all day for nearly everything when not travelling, including a shiny new gaming rig and my work devices. But CrOS is so low maintenance/high-reliability that I'm gonna keep coding personal projects on it until they pry it from my cold, dead hands.

@tojiro Wow, it *is* stupid expensive, but at least I can spec an i7 and 32GB of RAM...for $3K!And what's with these high-end chromebooks continuing to have terrible DPI? *sigh*

@slightlyoff With every single new Chromebook announcement I scroll right to the display spec and then immediately close the tab. Still stuck with the 1st-gen Samsung Galaxy Chromebook's 4K OLED. I really don't want to go back to a LCD. @tojiro
