       LMAO I post about how federating with Threads is likely to lead to ads and within the hour I get spam for a sex site. I realize it's a coincidence but the timing was impeccable.

       @izzyamar hmm, maybe I should have taken a closer look at the list of accounts @ messaged.  That toot is gone now. Expect someone at the server level may have blocked that account.  If so, thanks @stux
