       So, apparently when using an ActivityPub enabled service, you agree to have your data harvested for the sake of corporate profits.This has been said ad nauseam the past couple days and I would like to get proof.Can anyone actually find the text where this exists? Whether it be connected to activitypub documents or mastodon.        @BeAware The key is that #ActivityPub is basically a public broadcast system.It’s like standing on a street corner with a bull horn broadcasting your content.As you broadcast data publicly it’s out there for anybody to use.And it’s really important that users of this platform realize that.

       @BeAware it's not an #ActivityPub thing, it's a #Threads thing.Because #Federating means sharing our toots, posts, videos, images, blog posts, etc, Threads is saying that it's okay for them to collect, analyze, utilize, and sell that data.

       @BeAware Well the post you link to clearly states the opposite of what you claim.There's absolutely no indication in anything Meta has communicated that they try to be anything but a proper Fediverse citizen. That's not saying it's not ok to be suspicous, but let's not claim things as facts when they aren't.@kinyutaka
