       @georgebaily The author unfortunately has a strong bias for Russian conspiracy theories, such as that Ukraine revolution in 2013 was also staged by CIA, which he presents in a pseudo-intellectual style with random numbers such as “65 projects in Ukraine totaling over $20 million”. But if you check the actual NED page he uses as a reference, you’ll see these projects were the usual civic society building, and most of the “Eurasia” ones were actually funded in… Russia. An example:To enhance the capacity of the Russian diaspora in Europe. Project activities will include organizing Russians living in Europe and activating their potential to support democratic development in Russia.Sounds ominous, eh?Then, while paying plenty of attention to some further conferences at which local activists publicly (!) discussing e.g. lessons from Euromaidan, he completely ignores the true reasons for #Euromaidan, which was Yanukovych secret visits to Sochi to meet Putin, after which he made a completely unjustified and unexpected U-turn on EU integration. And that was precisely what triggered a million of Ukrainians to spend three months in winter on the square protesting, not some silly NED talks.
