Getting into #emacs sure is humbling. 30 versions (of gnu), dozens years of history. Functionality built upon other functionality, sometimes few things doing the same in contradicting ways. The entire development focused on not breaking things for the sake of breaking things. People still using know love gained 30 years ago. Yup, #emacs is the #bsd of text editing :-)

@crmsnbleyd I used Emacs for a year before returning to nvim a few months ago. Now I know what I want and need (like evil mode), so the return is going something. It’s been 3 days but still :)Haven’t earned badge update yet.

@mms how is it like the bsd of text editing ? they're pretty much total oppositesthat's a rhetorical question. just wanted to voice my disgust at emacs being compared to unix
