@kaia that would be a firm no but only because my mom passed in 2014 so that would be creepy & besides she never joined social media before then. She never had use for a computer or a cell phone.

When I was around 16 I asked her if I could go to her place to pick up stuff she had but that belonged to me (vintage videogames, some gold bullshittery) and she agreed, we were not on the greatest terms already.I got there for lunch so we ate, after lunch I asked her if I could have my stuff and her answer was "nah it would be difficult to bring those videogames away on the train, and I didn't take the gold from the bank." and then she just started watching TV.Radio silence for 2 years. When I turned 18 she sent me a single word text message that can be translated as "best wishes" and that was it. Sometimes I do wonder how much either of us is to blame for the absolute failure that was our relationship. She wasn't the best mother at all, a very big part of my issues (both mental and economical) is her fault but I still can't help but wonder if I should've done things different. The only thing I can tell myself to make me feel like I'm the one less guilty is "dude you were a kid and she was your mother, an adult. SHE should have known fucking better". And yet I'm the one venting about it here on the fedi. This was surely one of the most painful parts of my life.

@kaia Sure, why not? :cirno_shrug: However she's not a native English speaker either and, considering that most things I post about are very niche AND the average length of my posts — she'd get bored real fast, same as she got bored with other social media.If I wanted her to like Fedi — I think she'd be better off not following me, but trying to get around on her own, that has greater chances for success.She likes cat memes — sometimes I even help her when it's something complex, involving video or advanced image editing, but she does most of it fine herself. She seems to think that it's really important to accompany an already funny photo with some text and I could never prove her otherwise. Some time ago I even tried to get her into posting this stuff on Instagram, but she got bored fast and was back to sending her "content" to her friends and colleagues directly using messengers.
