Wait what? Never got enough supporters? But I was told the only thing stopping the NJP from taking over the US was that blasted Elon Musk and everyone else in the dissident right that wasn't a psychophantic dick rider. and that all this "online stuff" was just a distraction, now they're "folding it back in" to their paywalled online garbage, you know the stuff they said was useless. When I was in a pool party a couple years ago, we had a steady influx of new members every month, and that was even with Tony's deliberate sabotage of the vetting process. The problem is these pool parties were never properly utilized. The reason is self evident -- NJP was mostly a cash grab, intended to extract more money out of TRS's dwindling subscriber base.

@Shadowman311 I literally never heard or saw anything about them until I got on poast, and it's strange because I've undoubtedly worked with lots of listeners over the years. I checked out the shows on recommendation here but they were pretty low-quality and un-entertaining....felt just like any other 10-year youtuber veteran who long ago got bored, even hateful of their audience because they're stuck doing a job they hate - bc it's impossible to get a job after 10 years of "self employment" being politically incorrect online

A lot of that is/was voluntary on their part. For a few years, it was "twitter is gay and for fags, don't go on there." The most outreach they were doing was flyers and stickers in public- how many people do you know actually look up whatever it is when they see those, political or otherwise? They really didn't put in a lot of effort into spreading the message beyond people who were already plugged in.

I always shat/shit on things like this, whenever influencers and the like approach us for free shit and publicity. We've sponsored a couple things in the past, but they were unknowns with a simple, streamlined internet presence. Having some guy show up and say "oh yeah check out my organization we...." will get my eyes glazing over because I (the youngest guy in the company with any brains) will have to do a background check and learn about all the friends & enemies this rube has developed in the course of his e-celebdom. Not worth it to me, so I assume others are similar.

In common speech, impossible to tell apart. Doesn't help that they paywall EVERYTHING. I diagnosed them 2 years ago with late-stage creator's disease. They closed themselves off and stopping recruiting fresh blood to the fanbase, it's now all a languid death spiral until only the dumbest and most fervent followers remain (unless they pull out of the spin with renewed energy, more shows, and a concerted effort to break that cycle, still quite doable.)

I knew of pool party leaders who drove hundreds of miles and spent 8+ hours driving around on weekends to vet new members. It is hard to find that level of commitment and sacrifice in people these days. Sure is a shame NJP/TRS squandered all that.

A multitude of promotional materials existed or were in production, but the NJP leadership never got around to approve or reject them. My original impression was they were simply too busy, but now it is obvious the real reason was they intentionally wanted a limited impact. The more people interested in NJP, the more people asking uncomfortable questions like "where is all this money going?" and "what are our supporter numbers like?"The whole thing was a cash grab, pure and simple.

I think there's something about it - I used to joke about my "Iron Law of Lolcows", that "anyone who puts themselves in front of a camera WILL have some degree of cow-dom within them" but it's largely true. Back in the day though, I would argue that they were great at Twitter, Facebook, and comment section debates. (Facebook and comment sections were the wild West). That was really what the TRS community revolved around before podcasting gradually became the focus.

@judgedread Agreed, that's all valid and a concern I have as well.I was only making the observation that same of the rank-and-file pool party boys aren't half bad and it is a real shame their dedication was to the goofballs at TRS. Once they went into full stonewall mode, with one on air personality after another vanishing with no explanation I got suspicious enough to find the Third Jimpact podcast which played the Jayoh tapes and I was out, having got nothing but spamming and bad faith attacks from the TRS defense swarm, which was quite a thing on fedi back in the day, let me tell you.I'm sure most rank and file MEMBERS of TRS and NJP are good guys.
