@matrix I understand the decision to shutter the bridge, but I am disappointed. I had been using the official bridge for years now to communicate with the others @archlinux and other channels like #wlroots. Fortunately, Arch has its own bridge, so I can still use Matrix for that!

@serebit @archlinux We share your disappointment–naturally, our staffers and colleagues were bridge users, too!Our hope is that, as we address funding issues, we'll be able to invest more in public community bridges – but that may be a ways off, alas.

@MTRNord we understand that this timing is unfortunate and apologise for the impact it can have on some communities.We've made a commitment to Libera Chat to do it, and that is overdue because of our restricted capacity.This will also allow us to decommission the libera.chat host and use those funds more pragmatically than on an idle host!

@matrix What are rooms like https://matrix.to/#/!FMEdenXKnpOQJkaxiL:libera.chat?via=matrix.org (past #lojban:libera.chat) going to do? They don't have admin set to begin with and now they cannot claim any privilege? Unmoderated room is as good as gone.
