Google Maps didn't how up on my Android Auto screen in the car this morning - literally the only thing I use AA for.I did a voice search, and it said it was Samsung's fault for putting apps in "deep sleep"....but why does an app need to be *running* to show up on Android Auto's app launcher?!I'm calling bullshit on google. Probably they're being passive aggressive about Samsung interfering with their ability to collect location data or something.

@HunterZ The solution is to switch to something based on open street map. I use Osmand+ and it's a bit clunkier than Google maps, but it does the job pretty well.

@ParadeGrotesque looks like it costs money, which might be fine except that it also doesn't seem to have realtime traffic information due to a focus on offline functionality. Part of the reason I use Google Maps is that there are many possible routes between home and work, and which one is best depends on current traffic.
