@nixCraft When I use an editor, I don't want eight extra KILOBYTES of worthless help screens and cursor positioning code! I just want an EDitor!! Not a “viitor”. Not a “emacsitor”. Those aren't even WORDS!!!! ED! ED! ED IS THE STANDARD!!!

@nixCraft I picked ed as it's standard as in POSIX. Now, vi is also standard in the same sense, and I see and use vi more often than ed on Unix system nowadays, but I couldn't pick that option as it also mentioned vim, which isn't standard.

@nixCraft #ed is the standard.The reason #Emacs is doing poorly in this poll is that Emacs users know ed is the standard text editor.
