People who use Windows 7 in 2023 are just in the middle of technological darwinism

@BrodieOnLinux@linuxrocks.online the people who are still on windows 7 are like the dads that still somehow have a nokia 3310 and somehow still use it

@Jessica I do see value in dropping a smartphone for something more traditional especially if you find yourself on social media too much

@BrodieOnLinux Windows 7/8/10 is outdated. For software developers targeting Windows and providing LTS support it makes sense to run Windows XP / React OS in a VM I think.

@BrodieOnLinux@linuxrocks.online I get that but the 3310 hasn't been possible to use on the phone networks for over a decade now.

@BrodieOnLinux@linuxrocks.online I'm not saying that using a feature phone is not a good idea, I'm saying that the phone is impractical to use on modern networks and you'd be better suited to getting a few feature phone at some point. hell their cell provider probably would give them one if they asked. I believe AT&T gives away flip phones or at least for a low price

@Jessica That phone in particular I don't think will even function in Australia, but at that point it's not a phone just a paperweight

@BrodieOnLinux I would like to call out here the respect to everybody.Nobody should be judged by what device they use, what OS do they use and etc.It depends on preferences. It depends on what people want. Some don't want to spend time on manually installing an OS. They just want to have it already installed, to work as just an OS with basic needs they need. You and me aren't that kind of person, but they are. Please respect them and don't make fun of them. Thanks for understanding.

@expert I will respect people in so far as you make terrible choices for yourself, the second you start asking people to support your bad choices or you want other people to also make them you deserve to be ridiculed.

@BrodieOnLinux if you have been using Windows long enough, finding a stable, light and versatile version able to run in a VM with 192MB of RAM, you're always tempted to stay with the comfortable option. Cooking with wood might seem like caveman stuff, but sometimes you stick to the nice thing you found but don't dare to lose

@fixative_xyz The solution for most is switch to Windows 10 but if you're jumping through 1000 hoops to keep 7 working you'll probably get the hang of Linux

@BrodieOnLinux In the whole sentence, especially the last part of it.
