       @urbandata @geographyjim Curious to look into the methodology for producing the graph? Do you know where I can find it? Are the papers cited for the data or the graph?Regardless, assuming this data is from 1980, New York City was 100 ppl/hectare, and Manhattan was over 250. This must be selecting the whole NY metro area, which is not right.

       @karmanyaahm @urbandata @geographyjim Possible counting 'metropolitan area' which would cover a lot more than just the city itself--the Boston metro includes most of eastern Massachusetts and parts of southern NH, for instance. Presumably there's a correlation here between the proportion of car ownership vs public transit usage.
