After banning “the LGBT movement” outright, Russian lawmakers have set their sights on the next mortal danger to traditional family values: “child-free” lifestyles. Deputies are reportedly drafting a bill that would prohibit “child-free propaganda.” https://ria.ru/20231211/zakonoproekt-1915081910.html?in=t

Ironically, on the same day, a Moscow bookstore canceled a presentation of Asya Kazantseva’s new book about ditching child-free living for “the quiet joys of family life,” following complaints by “z-haters” who dislike the author’s antiwar views. https://t.me/sotaproject/70655

@kevinrothrock Every dictatorship tries to turn women into baby-making slaves to the state.Romanian orphanages are examples of the horrific consequences. https://www.theguardian.com/news/2014/dec/10/-sp-ceausescus-childrenhttps://www.rferl.org/a/romania-communist-orphanages-starvation-abuse/32711948.htmlPutin should keep in mind what happened to Ceauscescuhttps://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicolae_Ceau%C8%99escu

@kevinrothrock Mmm...What that really means is forcing birthing on women. Because what Russian man will ever be held responsible for children?

@northernlights Russia has alimony payments and so on. Paternal responsibilities are part of the law.

@kevinrothrock I don’t think individual paternal responsibility matters at all for the state policy. Russia clearly reaches to the Turkish tradition of Janissary including devshirme, recruitment of children. Orphans or half-orphans made good soldiers apparently, which was apparently to some extent practiced by GRU as Suvorov wrote.@northernlights

@northernlights @kevinrothrock Funny thing is: one can't be entirely sure anymore of the GOP is parrotting Russian talking points or if Russia has started parroting GOP ideas that parroted Russian talking points or if the GOP is parrotting Russian talking pounts that were copied from Taliban and ISIS ideas or etc. ad infinitum et nauseam.

@philbee @kevinrothrock They're in support of each other, seems to me. It may not really matter which is the source.

@northernlights Isn’t repeating things that worked (or not) in 14th century the core idea behind conservatism? 😉@philbee @kevinrothrock

@kevinrothrock Basically exact news were posted very recently on a russian parody website that mocks russian news. And now it's on one of dead serious pro-russian-goverment news.Almost everything people could think of while creating most absurd satire they can, slowly becomes reality for russian citizens.
