Beer is thought to have been invented by the Sumerians, who lived in what is now Iraq, around 8,000 BC and ancient tablets have been unearthed showing the original brewers were women.        @todayilearned @gocu54 Before losing my vision, I studied ancient languages  including those from this region. I still have a stone tablet from 2049 B.C. which is a receipt for goats. It was a gift from a  former Vice President of Yale University and Curator of their Museum of Ancient Antiquities. Unfortunately, there is no braille equivalent for Akkadian Cuneiform.
