2 days ago I posted a pic of one of my friends holding a gun. I had sum replies like shocked. Yeah I understand yall dat live in England and Europe not used to that so I deleted. But where I live this is normal. Like we ain't going round shooting nggas all the time but it kept as self defence feel me?This is the reality in most US cities, well in Houston it is . @Jaden2 It was kind of you to delete in order to protect people's feelings, but you didn't need to. imo the best thing about social media is having the chance to get to know people who live very different lives in very different situations from what you know. That can be shocking sometimes, and the gun situation where you are *is* shocking, but learning that stuff is important even when it's hard

@Jaden2 Hi Jaden, I totally agree with @CaptainJanegay On this, shocking though it is especially for us outside US, we know it's your reality, I think deleting the post was your call, but it is how we learn about each others lives! It wasn't so much the image for me, but the acceptance that it's 'normal' that it's 'needed' That's scary for me! I've never seen a gun up close and personal and would probably be scared shitless if did! I'm gonna go all Momma on you!! Stay away from that shit!! Stay safe, stay well, 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

@DoubleTreble @CaptainJanegay yep that why I deleted it but it is a way of life here. Nearly everyone I know got a gun. Just stuffed down they pants. Everyday someone gets shot in Houston. 2 of my closest friends got shot. This is the reality here. But yeah I deleted because I understand it shocking for sum. Love you , you are so open minded ❤️

@Jaden2 isn't it messed up how normal it is to us tho?sometimes i sit with that and really wonder if it is even possible to come back from.where i live people are strapped for no reason like.. all the time. everywhere they go. and i would never know WHO til it is too late.but we gotta go get groceries and live like that's not happening, or like it's not wild to have a deadly weapon like that all the time.

@Jaden2 my dad probably lived very differently than you do now and he relied on having a gun on him, and one in his car. i don't think anything ever happened that made him think he needed it. he didn't experience anything unsafe. he just did it.knowing that a LOT of people do that is what's really scary to me.there's very real reasons to carry a weapon, and that's relatable to some of us too. but there's imagined dangers for a lot of people, and that seems normal also.baseline fear.

@NadiaPurge @Jaden2 It’s not necessarily bad to have one onhand just in case. The important thing is to be responsible with the weapon; store it safely so that only you and people you trust can reach it, and train yourself so that you are using the gun properly and do not accidentally shoot people you’re not planning to.It’s about as justified as a woman carrying mace everywhere she goes. More power to you!
