@lowqualityfacts Indeed, to imitate empanadas and create an even more delicious dish like ravioli…! Italy is a menace 😱

@lowqualityfacts I don't know where you're getting this information -- the Italians were trying to make *miniature* empanadas.

@lowqualityfacts it was a stupid mistake, actually: empanadas are fried, ravioli are boiled.(you just ventured onto a minefield, be careful.)

@lowqualityfacts You joke but literally every culture has a version of "meat/cheese/veg-filled flour product". Call it a dumpling, ravioli, empanada, pierogi, wonton, bahn, buuz, dim sum, gyoza, knish, kreplach, samosa, tamale, tortellini, or any of a hundred other names, it doesn't matter. Take a flour (any kind of starch will do) and wrap it around... well, pretty much anything, et voila: happiness.

@lowqualityfacts Ok I feel both offended and proud. I really like empanadas. Ravioli were mentioned for the first time in 1187 in a manuscript found near Bergamo. Empanadas were invented near the XIII century and were a huge inspiration for the Calzone and other similar dishes like Galician Empanadas, Turkish Briks, Arabic Fatayer... (Not for ravioli)IMO it was commonplace in the Mediterranean sea, during the Roman Empire, to eat bread with meat and veggies into it.

@lowqualityfacts You should see what happened when the French tried to replicate 蝦餃/ha gau. There's a reason why they call them "raviolis chinois aux crevettes à la vapeur".
