i learned keyboard navigation and began using it as much as possible and all my wrist pain disappeared overnight. it is impossible to talk to any person about it because something i could teach them in about 15 minutes is somehow so inconvenient to how they use a computer they just throw “i don’t have that problem 😏” at me, like i know that’s why im bothering to tell you about it dipshit

it is wild how precisely computer users through the 90s all uniquely understood that having both hands on the keyboard was Actually Ergonomic and if you even had a mouse it was specifically only useful for certain applications and not intended for constant use because it wouldn’t be anywhere as efficient as a keyboard

@nutsling i know Vim is mostly a toy for weird programmers, but i really can't believe that other types of people who spend all day typing don't want keystrokes for shit like "move me back or forward one whole word at a time" or "cut this whole line"i see people try to do this stuff with a mouse and it's like… there's such a huge gap between what you know you want and how you are inputting it to the computer

@saddestrobots @usernameswift @chayleaf personally i use emacs because i love constantly contorting wrenching my wrists into the most awkward positions to accomplish anything at all

@usernameswift @nutsling @saddestrobots well he isn’t wrong, real programmers use ed instead of the so called “user friendly” editors for children
