@brothersoul I did not knew the details when I posted---------------------------------------------On July 27, 2015, a heart-rending incident unfolded in Jingzhou, China. Xiang Liujuan, a 30-year-old mother, was ascending an escalator at AZG Mall with her two-year-old son when a maintenance failure led to a tragedy. As they reached the top, the escalator's landing platform collapsed. With incredible presence of mind, Xiang pushed her son to safety into the arms of shop attendants, moments before she was pulled into the mechanism and tragically killed. Her body was recovered four hours later, after the escalator was disassembled.An official investigation found both the escalator manufacturer, Suzhou Shenlong Elevator Company, and AZG Mall responsible. The floorplates were poorly designed and loosely fitted, a clear lapse in safety standards. Additionally, mall staff were inadequately trained for such emergencies, failing to use the emergency stop button. In response, authorities halted the operation of all escalators by the manufacturer in the province for safety checks. AZG Mall's public apology was criticized by Xiang's family as insincere and more focused on public image than genuine remorse.
