Yes! I've been waiting for Miranda NG to provide #Matrix support but that doesn't look like it will happen, so I've been looking into #XMPP as a result, because there are more screen reader friendly clients out there. I'm kind of amazed how every Matrix client is inaccessible and bloated @pax

@pax XMPP is still being developed. It's a protocol, so will never get updated at the speed Matrix is, but it's still being developed, just like email protocols.

@pax @weirdwriter Some public rooms at https://search.jabber.network/rooms/1Several clients, my choices are Gajim/Dino/Beagle/Cheogram/Conversations depending on mood and platform with a preference for @gajim overall.

@pax I only do one on one chats so I don't go into chat rooms or communities, but on iOS, Snicket, Ciscon IM. On Windows, Miranda NG and a bunch of terminal clients, Converse.js. I have a VOIP number through JMP so I can group text and group call people, works far better than Google Voice.

@weirdwriter whoa, that's kinda bad that you need to sert up a number to call through XMPP, that's probably not for me.will miranda work on macOS though?or any other client?

@pax @weirdwriter You don't need to set up a number to call via XMPP, but you can register for a JMP number if you want to use an XMPP client to call phones that don't use XMPP themselves.

@pax @weirdwriter A Matrix/XMPP bridge. It requires you to run your own XMPP server though. If that's not the case you can also use the public bridge of aria-net.org
