I remember as I grew up hearing of teenagers drowning and yelling that something had their leg as they flailed and then went under. I personally have seen huge snapping turtles as big as a good sized dog , As a rule of thumb a fish will eat or try to eat anything that will fit in their mouth. Depending on how hungry they are they are liable to try to eat things they don't normally eat. Imagine a 6' to 8' catfish which is almost solid muscle with a huge mouth grabbing onto your leg and trying to pull you under. Do you think you would even have a chance? Even if it could not eat you, you would be drowned before it spit you out. A big snapper on the other hand would drown you and the go on to tear you apart until it had its fill. How many fishermen who drown while fishing near a dam were unsuspectingly and suddenly yanked in by something much bigger than they ever dreamed would bight on their hook? How many of you have heard stories of divers, looking near a dam, for a drowning victim telling of running into fish so large that they said they would never go back down there. There are monsters lurking in the deep.
