@nextcloud Podman with Nextcloud AIOI wish automatic updates would be possible with AIO. All the rest of my infrastructure is automatically updating, only AIO needs special treatment.

@nextcloud Nextcloud-AIO didn't work for me and seems overly complicated, but bare metal was easy to do.

@nextcloud I've been running mine on Debian stable with my own Apache, PHP and MySQL/MariaDB setup for years. I haven't had a reason to change because it just works, even across OS upgrades. I think once a couple years ago I had a database issue that I was able to fix by just importing the previous day's database backup and running a file scan with Nextcloud occ to bring it up to speed with changes, but other than that all I've ever had to do is update it and make sure I keep the green check.

@nextcloud I went from a all-handmade LAMP + Nextcloud over NextcloudPi to a Docker-AIO. But now, it's this:https://github.com/nextcloud-snap/nextcloud-snapSo far the best "hassle-free" way for me to run NextCloud. So I guess that makes it "bare metal".

@nextcloud I migrated off Nextcloud earlier this year (no complaints, it was just overkill for my needs), but for a couple years I ran it in an LX-branded illumos zone (effectively, an Ubuntu VM).
