I don't care if Brave is technically more private.I don't care if ungoogled-chromium is technically better.I don't care if it becomes less competent than Internet Explorer for modern browsing. They will NEVER take Firefox from me.I'd sooner stop using the internet, because if Chromium-based browsers become the only choice, it's barely even worth saving.

@codrusofathens @Jennifer The problem is Chromium forks are still at the mercy of Google's practices.Firefox uses its own independant renderer and doesn't even have any limitations to remove. That's why it's so vital to an open web.The only other notable independant renderer is Apple's Webkit, but it's not really competitive as a modern browser rendering engine.

@Linux_in_a_Bit can you explain why? I honestly don't know, I'm currently using the Duck Duck Go browser.

@Jennifer @Linux_in_a_Bit because everything is chromium. Therefore, controlled by Google

@joel @Jennifer @Linux_in_a_Bit but doesn't Mozilla rely on Google? (Hence the stoopid default search engine) .

@jose8 @joel @Jennifer Yes, but they're still independant and non-profit (for our intents and purposes). It's better than technologically relying on Chromium like most other browsers. If you're still concerned, look into LibreWolf and consider donating to Mozilla so they can have just a little bit more financial diversity.

@Linux_in_a_Bit the browser is great, the company behind it... not so much.

@Linux_in_a_Bit @joel @Jennifer Cheers ... I'm not overly worried, I currently use Firefox, Brave, Mull on my android (used to use Nakedbrowser but no longer supported I think). What ever mood I'm in!

@Linux_in_a_Bit Firefox is the best internet browser, period. There is nothing the Chromium alternatives really offer that is more satisfying for me. I've only been using the browser for about 4 years now, so I haven't been there from the beginning, but before that I had been using Chrome since 2012 or 13. Maybe by 2028 I'll find something better, but I doubt it.
