If someone tries to weaponize a relationship to get you to do something, such as abandon COVID protections, then it's not about COVID protections AT ALL. It's about power. It's about reestablishing dominance in a one-sided relationship because you dared to finally set a boundary, and that boundary challenges their authority. It's about maintaining control over you. These people don't want an equal relationship. They want you submissive. These people are making your life a lot harder than you realize.Run.1/2

If you are a people pleaser or you grew up with a narcissistic parent or parent with some other personality disorder, or if you are neurodivergent, you probably have a lot of "friends" like this. You're the one with the reputation for being nice. You don't rock the boat. You help people out.No matter what you do for others, though, you're always also a "bad person" or a "selfish person".You will lose a lot of "friends" when you start setting boundaries. They will tell you that you're an awful person. They'll go for the jugular.
