protip: always do the math and click "custom tip". pull out a calculator if you have to. they are exploiting the fact that nobody knows how to do math and putting an ungodly amount as the preset tip numbers.

@watch4thedrop shameful when deliberately misleading. All I've seen in my area is that the tip defaults are now 18, 20, 22 percent & custom. I am holding the line at 15% for dine-in and no tip for take out. As cost of food and service inflates, that will proportionally increase the tip as well. They need to take better ownership over their business model.

@Johnny_Aurelius yep. 15%. i can usually do it in my head. which is why when they had the $13 preset as the lowest option on a $60 bill, my spidey senses immediately tingled. the waitress was standing behind me as a pressure tactic as well. i took my sweet ass time.

@EarlThePearls @Josephcdickerson @Mnorman @Johnny_Aurelius yeah i pick up too. at the rate they charging delivery and service fees, you paying more for them to deliver it to you then the actual meal. the price of laziness

@DawnM @Josephcdickerson @Mnorman @Johnny_Aurelius same. I usually keep coins either for parking meters or to just pay off annoying ending prices (e.g. $5.17, 7.62, etc.). can usually calculate it pretty quick too without holding up the line too much. that's probably another reason why people don't want to deal with it. I've also noticed that a lot of the younger cashiers just take whatever change you give them and dont bother counting it or checking if its correct.

@watch4thedrop @EarlThePearls @Josephcdickerson @Mnorman they were all clever with reasonable fees when starting up the food delivery apps. Once they got market share and people accustomed to the convenience, they piled on the fees.Steep increase right around when inflation hit as well. Priced way out of what I considered reasonable, even for a group order.

@Johnny_Aurelius @EarlThePearls @Josephcdickerson @Mnorman I've noticed every item on the app is like a dollar or 2 more expensive then when you just call the restaurant and order. that's like another 15% tip right there on top of the fees and the actual tip.
