@GluedToTheScreen or you can turn up the antiskate and just let the needle re-groove the record...;)dirty hack but it does work, if you're using a more agressive stylus. I just ordered a batch of 10? maybe 11? records that are all Mint/VG+ so I look forward to not having any scratches. This temptations A side is clean so far.(first listen of it.) thrift store find. weird record - its a marine recruitment record series - there's an announcer talking about marine opportunities&tunes.

@c00p uh oh get it reset!yeah this jvc is a quadraphonic capable.i have all four pins on the stylus plugged in.. does that mean im already listening that way?it's using both RCA plugs. my previous TT was monophonic, the red was a dummy pin.

@ringo I’m not sure.. I believe it needs to go through the 4 channel receiver. And you need a record that’s recorded with 4 discrete channels too, I think.I have the record player on top of my bookshelf going through a line amp into a “sound bar “ just to listen to records..I have the receiver, cassette player and reel to reel too but not currently hooked up.

@c00p @ringo Isn't the quadrophonic bit handled in the electronics? @c00p @ringo Multi track devices are typically built to maintain the individual tracks, so they can always be isolated for mixing and re-mixing.(2/2)

@ned @raintrees @ringo the records for discrete 4 channel audio aren’t grooved with anything different other than a frequency that carries the 4 channel information.. they play normally on a 2 channel receiver (stereo).. The audio, however needs to be recorded (in the studio) with 4 discrete channels.. it’s like an early atmos or 5 channel audio recording… here : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compatible_Discrete_4
