This article made me curious about the status of the unwanted tracker detection specification, and it appears that work is indeed ongoing.The latest message in the mailing list comes from an Apple employee dated Nov. 30, and ends with "I think we're close to getting the charter done done [sic]."https://9to5google.com/2023/12/04/android-airtag-find-my-device-network-delay/(1/4)

Google's unwanted tracker detection is based on a custom implementation rather than the draft specification, but Apple is seemingly waiting for the specification to be finalized before rolling out unwanted tracker detection on iOS.Google in July said that they were "working in partnership with Apple to help finalize the joint unwanted tracker alert specification by the end of this year", so hopefully the specification is finalized this month.(2/4)
