       This, right here is the problem with calling the fediverse "mastodon" as if the rest of the network doesn't matter:We HAVE quote posts on the fediverse.  It's not a "dealbreaker" because it's functionality that the network already offers.  If your instance doesn't do quote posts -- migrate to one that does.

       This post seems to have hit a nerve, getting more traffic than my little blog has seen in years. Most of it seems to be coming from Hacker News, which is definitely NOT my crowd, along with a couple of troll comments I can cheerfully mark as spam and move on. Blogs FTW!
