@kkarhan @lowqualityfacts I usually use a pressure cooker. Why would I need a thing that can only do one thing (eggs or rice)? I can use the pressure cooker to cook beans, rice, eggs, soups, etc etc. I can even use it as a slow cooker.

@kkarhan @lowqualityfacts rice cookers crack me up because all you really need is a stove and a pot. Needing a one button solution just suggests a lack of experience tbh. Don't get me wrong I love my pressure cooker but other than making it possible to eat dry beans the same day I don't think I'd be too lost if I couldn't use it. I'd just need to plan better when I want to make beans.

@thatguyoverthere @lowqualityfacts depends...Maybe because you can't get fluffy rice and soft eggs with a pressure cooker?That being said I have a real pressure pot and that thing does stews and long boiling stuff marvellously good.

@kkarhan @lowqualityfacts my pressure cooker has a rice setting and I can cook perfect hard boiled eggs with or without specialized equipment. I can also get perfectly fluffy rice on the stove. Its not hard just takes practice.

Back when I ate a lot of rice my zoji was good for leaving a heating element free and unattended while I focused on other stuff needing my attention also it got consistent perfect results.But I'm cutting so now red and sweet potato are my go-to starchy carbs (more satiating per calorie)

@CumskinFoidPuncher69420 @kkarhan @lowqualityfacts on yeah being able to free up some space and get consistency without having to monitor things so closely is cool. I just think the idea that they are necessary or that people who don't have them are missing out on good rice is one that I think is pretty funny. I don't eat that much rice but I've cooked enough over the years that I know how to do it without a rice cooker and get good rice. Like you it's not my staple carb. I have a couple buckets in my pantry and I pull some every once in a while, but I'm more fond of potatoes. This year I grew my own sweet and plain potatoes. I haven't tried the sweet potatoes yet buy the regular potatoes are delicious. I still have 5 or 6.
