Good morning. I procured a copy of Animal Forest on Nintendo 64, and instead of erasing the save file I'm joining as a new resident of the town last played in 2004.

@Moon @alex IIRC most N64 use some sort of flash storage for saves, very few uses battery savesAC64 didn't actually save your time and tracks it, you have to input it manually every time

@coolboymew @Moon I have two copies of Animal Forest, one is totally dead. It definitely has a battery, I replaced it on the dead one last night. But what I'm reading now suggests the save file is on flash storage while the battery just tracks time. So I should be good to replace it.

@coolboymew @Moon Now that I know this I'm tempted to desolder the eeprom from the dead Animal Forest cart and transplant it onto a working cartridge.I want to go on a mission to find every Animal Forest save file in the world and upload them online. Magellan mapped the Earth, now I will map the Forest.
