@jquillin I was always more of a classic gal with a structured coat (wool or leather), but when I got my first knee-length puffer coat, I realized it made it 10x easier for me to drag my ass outside in the winter 😂 I love the feeling of being wrapped in a huge blanket.I have two now, one bright orange and one beige with an artsy motif. I get regularly stopped in public about them.I'm not very knowledgeable about fashion, but for me, regardless of the type, outerwear should be beautiful/fun!

@being I LOVE your coat! I actually think puffers can be really cool. I’m not entirely sure they are as divisive as this article makes it seem. I hate being cold!

@jquillin thank youu!!NGL, I kind get it, just because I think there's a vibe with a lot of "practical" clothing that it isn't supposed to be fun, pretty or flattering. I always want pretty things!! Even (especially?) when they're useful!Otherwise, they feel like a chore, one I resist... and then wear uncomfortable outfits. 😅This is also why I splurged on the famous Chloe rain boots, and a cute raincoat that has a matching version for my dog! Makes me happy on rainy days.

@jquillin I bought the heavy winter weight Barbour. Just as warm if not warmer. Waxed cotton is waterproof/resistant. Still bulky and way heavier but unbelievably warm when paired with boots etc

@jquillin trying to see if I have a full pic of this is the Barbour in the Grand Tetons. I’ll wear leggings and sorrels when it’s cold - super cold I add wool leg warmers if I need to add something to my knees/thighs. It has a double zip. Truly the best coat I’ve ever purchased.

@jquillin I'm Canadian, so yes, I own a short puffer jacket that I've had for over 20 years. They tend to stay popular here because they are warm.

@jquillin thank you. Sorta full pics - you get the idea - and what I like is you can wear this with a black turtleneck/riding pants or something similar in wool as a nice biz casual outfit.

@jquillin @Radiojane Ugh the Guardian, English horsey fashion edge to this so they have beef. Puffas, Mustos used to be the go. Practical and stylish they cover a multitude of sins. Barbours wax yes ofc have their place but the new quilted internationals are just not the same without your great aunt's classic silk paisley headscarf. Fact is the latter have all fallen of late not least helped by Sir Mike Tyndall showing up at Cheltenham looking like something out of Peaky Blinders. ciao miao 😽

@jquillin @being Really nice puffer coat! Love the colour. I haven’t heard of them being divisive and a blight for the eye until I came across the article. It’s -12 degrees Celsius here now, I’ll take a nice warm ‘ugly’ puffer coat over a ‘fashionable’ thinner coat. :)

@design_law I have a black cropped Alo puffer that I practically live in. Although I got a House of Harlow blue wool coat w faux fur at TJ Maxx yesterday that has all the 1930s screen siren vibes.
