@jeremiah My experience teaching products of public education is exactly opposite. Students can't memorize anything, they were not taught that or any other skills. They think freely and are endlessly creative but, absolutely incapable of even a concept that they may be wrong in their opinion or result. Incapable to check their own work for obvious mistakes because all they were taught in school is to provide a creative answer and that was the end of it. Everyone got a medal.

@MaleticResearch my experience teaching (college) was that anyone who signed up for more than the mandatory 12 years was not our best material -- it was our most pliable, manageable material. Mostly Dunnings and Krugers.I saw more creative ambition among boomers in senior citizens' painting classes than I did in the student art galleries: garbage in, garbage out.

@SirAnthony Deflecting and running cover for broken, defective institutions by blaming their victims is very much the attitude of the institutions themselves. I'm guessing you were a public school student?If they are too dumb, then why would we waste money and time on them in the first place?Why are so many of the pioneers in science, industry, and arts school drop-outs or self-taught?
