@tuxedocomputers I learned Java as my first real programming language and most of the projects at work were written in Java. But rust is getting more and more interesting.

@tuxedocomputers C and C++ are _not_ the same language. You might as well bunch Java and C++ into one category.

@tuxedocomputers maybe the right one for the job? Most programming languages can fulfil many different tasks and so you can use whatever suits you for your project. Reducing it only to one seems to be too simplistic.

@tuxedocomputers That'd really depend on the project.I mean, I've written code in python that would've been far harder in C++... and written code for C++ projects that would've been way too slow in Python. Things like interpreted vs. compiled is really going to depend on what's best for what you are working on...

@tuxedocomputers For web projects, #PHP is often used. That is missing here, too. And yes, @casandro said it correctly, #Java is missing, too.

@tuxedocomputers It depends on the use case, but I tend to use #go the most right now.

@tuxedocomputers As long as it's open, the code's language is irrelevant. Choose the language that suits the project well and that you/your team are most comfortable using.

@tuxedocomputers Rust as it is easier to spot problems for maintainers and they are generally less likely.

@tuxedocomputers If you are doing this only to ship these by default on Tuxedo OS: don't. It will only be a lot of crap you don't need to be removed. Development environments are unique and should be setup individually.
