I'm at least aware of a project making open source SSD with features comparable with comercial stuff from the last decade. HDD's though, just non-existant.

@ignaloidas @privateger @niconiconi @rq Yeah for SSDs you probably could source NANDs and do the rest yourself, with HDDs well… you need a proper factory I guess.
