TIL it's possible to download more RAM in Linux by using a swap file in another computer's RAM.First:sudo -E sshfs user@domain.com:/tmp tmpNext, create the swapfile in tmp, then:sudo losetup -f tmp/swapfilesudo swapon /dev/loop0also, if SSHFS itself gets swapped out, your computer will probably freeze, so have fun.

probably a better idea to use NBD for this instead of SSHFS

probably a better idea to use NBD for swap over network instead of SSHFS, such as here: https://unix.stackexchange.com/a/666446

@a heh yeah, this system allows for some crazy stuff. In a similar way it's e.g. also possible to use a remote USB device 🤪 And I do not mean a mass storage device by that.

@a is there any cloud provider offering NBD? 🤣 srsly: zswap and zram are really great things on linux, practically doubling your physical ram. even on machine with 64+GB RAM its nice to have swappiness = 95, things that are rarely or never used become compressed making space for more caches and memory that is frequently needed.
