In L.A., the same dude cut my hair for 15 years. Never got a bad one. He LISTENED to what I wanted, and was done in maybe 7 minutes, at most.Just got my 2nd cut here in Ct. (The first one was not good.) Tried a new place. Gave simple, clear instructions to a highly recommended "stylist."45 minutes later, my fucking head looks like I lost a fight with a rototiller.JFC... where is competence!?!?!

@ThatLARRYSHOW Some hairdressers seem to actually look at the customer and decide what would look good and is possible. Some seem to think a hairdo regardless of the person in chair. Map vs terrain sort of mind set, I guess.

@ThatLARRYSHOW I had the same barber, back in Ontario, from the age of 9 to 27. A proper man's barber shop, with a game on the TV and a stack of Playboys on the table. He never stopped talking, usually about the game, or politics, and I loved every minute of it. I've been in British Colubia for 25 years and I've to find a decent barber. Probabbly explains why I only go in twice a year for a butchering. So sad.

@GettingCooked @ThatLARRYSHOW I miss the place I would go to when I was in college. Nice little place on Spadina just up from Dupont in Toronto's Annex neighbourhood. Place could have transported in time right outta the 50s, the barber himself included.I doubt it's around anymore; it's been almost 20 years since I went into college after all.
