       I missed my mother's wake and my friend's entire funeral. I tried to go to my husband's sixtieth birthday party and had to be taken home. I've missed my kids' school events, chances to see friends, god knows how many more simple normal things. It's taken away the job I loved and the pastimes I loved even more. I don't want to whinge on but I do think there is still a vast lack of understanding of how much this disease can take from you. It's not just "being a bit tired".

       Governments are firmly in the ostrich position on Long Covid: denying funding for research and support, refusing to count cases, and praying that it will somehow go away if we pretend it doesn't exist. We've got to watch each other's backs, babies, because no one else is doing it.

       Mastodon is just a client, not The Network. These are just a few of the clients which support different protocols such as ActivityHub or Diaspora, Zot - and there are a few clients like Hubzilla which has bridges to most protocol.I do not post from Mastodon, ever.

       Most of us are here to shitpoast, and the overwhelming of us do not obsess over covid. I'm not going through long hypochondria and I never will.
