       Just rewatched the classsic animated Frosty the Snowman, and I find myself empathizing with the magician who had his hat stolen and just wants it back, not the snowman who stole the hat and takes a child with him as a stowaway on a $3000 train ride to the North Pole.

       @lwriemen Hah! Well in this case the question is whether Frosty's existence *is* the greater good (or just self-serving for Frosty), compared to the magician being (finally) able to perform actual magic with a real magic hat, after years of training and performing in front of children. In both cases you will have entertained children as a result. One could argue Frosty offers more companionship, but a short-lived kind.
